Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood, Iowa is looking for a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to join our family. We are a Non-Profit, Privately-Owned continuum of care providing a 42 bed Skilled Nursing Facility that includes a 8 bed Memory Care unit, 30 Independent Living Apartments, 16 Assisted Living Apartments.

The Administrator must lead and direct overall operations of the Facility in accordance with State and Federal regulations while focusing on maintaining a caring environment that provides outstanding Resident care.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the facility's clinical operation and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate a solution-oriented and focus driven attitude that builds teamwork and positive work culture.
  • Ensure that nursing/clinical services are planned, implemented, and evaluated to maximize Resident quality care.
  • Identify, monitor, and ensure that quality assurance programs are utilized to maximize effectiveness and best practices in the field.
  • Ensure development, implementation, and review of resident care policies and procedures, along with Facility and Employment policy and procedures.
  • Review operating results of the organization to compare them to established objectives and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Oversee recruitment, evaluations, selection, and training of competent Department Supervisors and other ancillary staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Resident rights in long-term care facilities and be able to impart this knowledge to staff.

Candidates for this position must possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business or other related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Current and valid Iowa Nursing Home Administrator License.
  • prior experience as a Long Term Care Administrator.
  • Willingness to adapt to the culture and needs of our residents and Facility staff.
  • Be committed to team-oriented outcomes and quality care.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.'
